The Centre for Decision Sciences and Forecasting of the Foundation started the implementation of the project "Scenarios and development trends of selected information society technologies until 2025" within Subactivity 1.1.1, Priority 1, of the Innovative Economy Operational Programme (ERDF-financed).
The main aim of this project is to investigate the most recent trends and explore the existing knowledge of the Foundation in the area of information technology foresight and adapt it to the needs of Polish enterprises and R&D institutions. Another objective is to elaborate an Information Society evolution model and to apply it to describe quantitatively the IS development and behavioral trends. Among the selected technologies to be study in detail are decision support systems, recommenders, m-health, neurocognitive systems.
The Progress and Business Foundation’s achievements in the area of foresight and research on decision support methods have been continuously developed since more than a decade in cooperation with European Commission DG JRC IPTS within the European Science and Technology Observatory (ESTO), and currently within the European Techno-Economical Policy Support Network (ETEPS), www.eteps.net and with other world’s leading research or consultancy institutions.
The other project's consortium members are the Jagiellonian University, Chair of Economics and the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Computer Science of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Gliwice.
